Janice & Zac’s Wedding

•August 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I had a great wedding last weekend with Janice & Zac. This couple has such an amazing story of adventure of their lives. They have spent the last 12 years working on cruise ships in Europe, the Caribbean and Alaska. The slideshow they had showed all the places they have travelled to, and it really made me feel nostalgic for all the time we spent living in Ireland and travelling around Europe. Zac played in the orchestra on the ships, while Janice was a ballet dancer in the shows. They are both very artistic and were up for anything on their wedding day. Every once in a while I get the privelige to work with a ballet dancer, they are so graceful and elegant, and Janice was no exception. The way she moved looked like she could just walk on a cloud even in what looked like 6 inch stiletto heels. Zac is from Oklahoma and has that cool Oklahoma drawl that sounds like nothing in the world is going to bother him, although he was working on his Canadian accent with a few eh’s thrown in. Janice is a classic beauty who was a pleasure to photograph, so easy going that it made my job feel so much easier. The only downside to the wedding was when Janice walked out of her parent’s house and got something black across the bottom of her dress. She was so upset, and I felt so bad for her, but she persevered where someone else might have completely lost it. Then the ceremony went beautifully, and it was soon forgotten in the joy and emotion of the wedding.
A classic beauty.

Janice & Zac wanted some dark and edgy looks to their photographs, so we created this one in an underground parking lot.

Crazy couple of Weeks

•July 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Wow, I can’t believe it has been a couple of weeks already since our last post. Where does the time go? When we look back over the past two weeks, it’s amazing how many returning clients there have been. First we had the group shot of the Langley RCMP jr. cadet camp that we do each year, 115 kids aged 8 to 12.

We had a bride from last year come to the studio for some portraits of just her and her Mom, and we had a bride from 2 years ago had me come to her house for her father’s 60th birthday party. That was such a good party, they even had family that came from Italy for the occassion. Another one of our bride’s from last year brought her beautiful little one month old baby to the studio for some photos. Here is a shot of her curled up with our giant teddy bear.

In between I shot anengagement session in Vancouver at Library square and Holy Rosary Cathedral. Unfortunately the couple does not want any photos shown of themselves.

We also had another returning client have me come and photograph their two children in their back yard. I have been photographing their daughter since she was 6 months old, and she just recently turned 4. They are both such adorable little kids, that it’s hard not to take a good photo of them.

This is the two of them together.IMG_0086

I can’t say enough of  how much we appreciate having such loyal people that keep coming back, it certainly makes us feel good about what we do.

Well that’s an extra long post, and I don’t want to bore anybody too much, so until next time.

Cheers,

Darren & Josie.

We’re back!

Darren and Josie here just to say that we are back on the blog and trying to make another attempt at trying to keep up on this thing. This post is dedicated to all of our wonderful clients that have been bugging us about our blog and what happened to it. Our last attempt ended because of our hectic lifestyle made more hectic with the birth of our new baby in October. Now that makes four, the oldest a boy, and three beautiful girls. We had to get a male dog just to try to even up the numbers. Now that she is 9 months old, and life has returnted to some sort of normality, we thought we would join the crowd of every other photographer out there with a blog. Here is a shot of our gorgeous little girl._MG_2553sm So check back again as we will be posting some more soon.

Cheers.
